FRIDAY 10th DECEMBER 1999: Are the Press Switching Sides?

Some press comment seems to be coming round to the view that we might just manage to remain independent. The messages about the difficulty of IT integration and the survey of previous value-destroying mergers are gradually getting through. The BoS presentation was quite well received by the press but has not totally assuaged the doubts that appear to be creeping into the market.
