SATURDAY 4th MARCH 2000; Bank of Scotland and Fallout from Failure?

The Times reports that the Governor of the Bank of Scotland (Sir John Shaw) might go; apparently there is dissatisfaction with his lack of involvement during the bid. Lord Younger got far more involved from the RBS side and apparently was a key figure in persuading the institutions. The papers have now picked up on this and are presenting it as fact. However, I saw no comments along those lines during the bid process; funny how it is now totally obvious that this is what cost Bank of Scotland victory.
